Welcome to CVQO

CVQO (Cadet Vocational Qualification Organisation) is a registered charity responsible for managing Vocational Qualifications for members of the Combined Cadet Force, Sea Cadet Corps, Army Cadet Force and Air Training Corps.

CVQO is dedicated to helping both cadets and instructors of the Cadet Forces get ahead personally and professionally. The qualifications on offer have been designed to show employers and educators the wide range of skills that young people and adults learn in the Cadet Forces.

BTEC cadet Lauren Arnold has successfully gained her silver gliding wings, following a recent solo flight aboard the Grob Viking glider at the Volunteer Gliding Squadron, Essex.

Weather conditions were good during training, but with wind picking up towards the end of the week it was possible that solo flights would not be taking place. Lauren said, “When my slot on Friday was cancelled due to cross winds. I joked that it wasn’t a problem and I would land at Stansted instead!” Fortunately, after early showers on Saturday, conditions improved and Lauren was able to make the flight.

Of the ten students on the course, seven were successful in gaining their solo wings.
