Aviemore Air Cadet Flight Sergeant Jordan Adams (18) of Kincraig, received not just one but two CVQO BTEC Diplomas this week. She had been working towards her BTEC First Diploma in Public Services and also in Music during the last two years and was rewarded with both at a presentation made by Wing Training Officer Squadron Leader Christine Copsley who had travelled especially for the occasion.

This is the first time in the ATC Highland Wing that a cadet has gained both these Diplomas at the same time. Jordan had also previously obtained a BTEC in Aviation Studies. She is among the many senior cadets who can work towards these educational qualifications as part of their normal cadet activities. Each Diploma is comparable to four standard grades or a level five award and represents real and practical evidence for employers, colleges and university admissions.

“Doing the BTEC Diplomas has helped me to develop and improve my leadership skills , and helped build on my confidence” says Jordan “ I think this will stand out on my CV and university applications as its quite a rare thing to have on it.” Jordan plans to study Psychology at University and then perhaps become an Officer in the Royal Air Force.

Jordan’s father Flying Officer Scott Adams, who is also the Officer commanding 1068 Detached Flight at Aviemore says, “ I’m so very proud of Jordan, she has worked hard and achieved a whole lot through the ATC and her own efforts – it’s a great result for Jordan. ”
