Captain Windsor RN, Captain of the Sea Cadets, visited Huyton with Roby Unit SCC recently to personally present them as the winners of the coveted Captains Cup, indicating their position as one of the top SCC units in the UK. This is a significant achievement, especially as Huyton with Roby have already been award with the prestigious Stephensons trophy which highlighted them as the best SCC unit in the NW Area.

During his visit, Captain Windsor was given a guided tour of the unit, and found out what the cadets had been up to during the past year, including international exchanges to Canada, Australia and South Africa, and various sporting and boating competitions at national level. The visit was attended by parents and local dignitaries, and the unit celebrated with a cake, complete with replicas of the awards received, made by Leading Cadet Heffy and his sister.

Huyton with Roby Unit SCC has a strong dedication to improving the educations of its cadets, and is proud to have had such a high number of cadets completing CVQO’s BTEC First Diploma in Public Services.
