 BTEC air cadets from Devon & Somerset Wing Music Flight were present at Taunton Armed Forces Charity Day recently, and helped raise over £50,000 for the cause, whilst also taking part in a nationwide Olympic initiative.

  

  CVQO Regional Operations Manager Steve Mills was present at the Staffordshire Wing Annual Field Day at MOD Stafford recently; presenting the winning prize following a CVQO sponsored BTEC poster competition.

  

Tameside cadet Richard Carter, 16, has recently been awarded with his BTEC First Diploma in Public Services, achieving the highest grade possible of a Distinction Star.

Richard says, “I’m really pleased that I finished my BTEC, and I will definitely be encouraging other cadets to enrol this year. The qualification has given me a bigger perspective of the public services, especially the armed forces.”

 

  

Two of 121 Squadron’s Naval Field Gun Teams were involved in the open day at Gamecock Barracks, Nuneaton, recently, with BTEC co-ordinator Gemma Bradbury joining them. Gemma stepped in at the last minute to ensure that the squadron could field two full teams of ten, when it was realised they were one man short.
