CVQO was among the many cadets and adult volunteers who gathered last night at the City of London Guildhall to enjoy a Big Curry Supper laid on for them by ABF, the Soldiers Charity. The event brought together cadets from many of London’s cadet services, including members of the Scouts and St John.

Over 500 cadets and adults from all services gathered at their spring camp recently, held at Barry Buddon, Dundee. The hosts were Black Watch Battalion ACF, who welcomed visiting cadets from North East England. Black Watch cadets were joined by the Band and Bugles of Durham ACF, marine and sea cadets from Hartlepool Unit, and air cadets from HQ Durham and Northumberland Wing.

BTEC cadets Robert Allan of 121 (Nuneaton) Sqn ATC, Elizabeth McCarthy of Coventry Unit SCC, and Sophie Milliner of Warwickshire ACF have recently been named as this year’s Lord Lieutenant’s cadets for Warwickshire. Lord Lieutenant Martin Dunne formally appointed the three cadets at a ceremony held at the Judge’s House in Warwick.

Leading Cadet Kerry Szmidt, of Southwark Unit SCC, spent a day in early April celebrating the new sea cadet offshore training vessel TS Jack Petchey. Kerry was accompanied by five other cadets in assisting at the reception at Trinity House in Tower Hill for guests of the commissioning ceremony. The many guests included Jack Petchey himself, benefactor of the Jack Petchey Foundation.
