Jenny Nixon, an 18 year old Air Cadet from 1921 (Lewisham) Sqn ATC has just completed the jump of a lifetime…literally!

Cadet Flight Sergeant Jen Nixon, who is currently working towards her BTEC First Diploma in Public Services with CVQO, was one of a lucky few cadets to be selected for a parachuting course through the Air Cadets; making use of the Armed Forces parachute training centre in RAF Weston-on-the-Green. This is her account of her training.

Cadets from 2nd Battalion the Highlanders ACF were joined by members of Shetland Independent Battery for a BTEC session at their annual camp at Nesscliff, Shropshire, recently.

Major Stewart Rivers, who was last year awarded the City & Guilds Membership in Strategic Youth Management by CVQO, has been presented with the Lord Lieutenant’s Certificate for exceptional service in the Cadet Forces. The Certificate was presented by The Countess of Verulam at the Hertfordshire county show.

It was “Adults only” for the first few days at Westdown Camp for the Middlesex and North West London ACF Sector when the time was dedicated to training for the adult volunteers. Among the training on offer to the early birds at camp was First Aid, Map reading skills and Range Management courses.
