The ILM Level 3 Award in Leadership and Management is a two unit qualification worth 4 credits, requiring a total of 13 Guided Learning Hours (GLH). it is an achievable route to a professional qualification in leadership and management as it can be delivered by organisations in as little as five days.
The course teaches the importance of the need for leaders to understand the requirements of individuals and organisations by adopting a situational approach to leadership. Learners are taught the different leadership styles and the different situations they can be applied in; leadership in the context of working practice and culture and given an understanding the factors that motivate team members towards achieving organisational goals.
Learners can undertake this qualification if they are at least 16 years old and if they have gained experience leading others. This could involve junior or middle management roles in employment, in voluntary roles or within a school team-based activity in a school, college or university.
