In 2013, we were chosen by the Department for Education to deliver a new alternative provision training scheme for young people who may need a different way of studying to achieve more from their school experience.
Through the use of a proven and highly successful training programme and syllabus, CVQO is able to deliver a nationally-recognised BTEC Level 1 qualification one day per week over a single term as an addition to a school's current curriculum.
Young people learn a variety of skills and competencies including teamwork, citizenship, volunteering and self-reliance. On completion of the course they are awarded the CVQO-led Edexcel BTEC Level 1 in Teamwork, Personal Skills and Citizenship.
Who is this project aimed at?
This initiative is designed for demotivated or disengaged young people aged between 13 and 15 years old (years 7, 8, 9 and possibly 10). The aim is to reconnect and motivate them, helping them perform to their full potential and make sure they are no longer at risk of disengagement from education.
